Quandary for the IB students by Krish Jain

Are you sure about continuing with the IB programme?

Are you going to face the daunting transition of Middle Years Programme (MYP) to the Diploma Programme? This is the best place to look at a few pieces of advices when you are doing this programme. It will surely make  you have less breakdowns as you may have expected. If you have any specific queries, please contact me.

Hello everybody, with great pleasure I would like to share a few ideas and thoughts about what the essential elements to keep in mind before entering the IBDP. If you don't adhere to these tips, it might lead you to face great difficulties and may even lead to you scoring less or your diploma getting cancelled.

TIP 1 - Don't even think of delaying work

It is the most fundamental advice you will

be hearing by each and everybody who has experienced the DP or not. It may not seem
very important but it is. If you do not delay,
you won't be loading yourself with assignments,
you will be on the safer side.

TIP 2 - Choose your subjects wisely

I have seen people saying that, " I wish I had chosen the subject I liked and not due to peer pressure".

REMEMBER to choose what you like to do and not what anybody else asks you to. Your future is depended on this and choose your HL and SL based on your interest.

TIP 3 - Stay organised throughout 2 years

I ponder that staying organised is very crucial. I have heard from many seniors that staying organised, and

making notes, having a strong study schedule will make
me consistent and help me to stay on track with the syllabus.

 TIP 4 - TIME MANAGEMENT

Must seem easy, right? Believe me, it is not!

It would become so difficult to get enough sleep a day, have a good social life, and complete all assignments of your school. You have to become
very serious and complete all you school work before the due date, give sleep of at least 6-7 hours a day and even maintain a social life. Create masterplans, multi task, stop procrastinating, have a fast pace and most importantly, make priorities!
TIME MANAGEMENT WON'T BE DIFFICULT FOR YOU.

TIP 5 - ACADEMIC HONESTY

3 years ago, my brothers diploma got cancelled due to him forgetting to put quotation mark at the end of the sentence, leading the IBO to cancel his diploma in terms of academic misconduct and plagiarism. What do you think about this now? It is very strict about academic dishonesty which includes plagiarism, collusion and duplication of work. REMEMBER TO RECHECK EVERY TIME AND NOT LET SUCH A SILLY MISTAKE TO HAPPEN WITH YOU !
